Saint of the Day, September 16: Saint Cornelius

St. Cornelius (3rd century): Cornelius was the twenty-first pope. He worked tirelessly to maintain unity in a time of schism and apostasy, by welcoming back those who denied their faith during the persecutions of Decius. He died a martyr in Rome.
