Fides: A few hours after the end of the Week of Peace, another priest has been killed, the sixth in 2011

A 34 year old priest, Fr. Gualberto Oviedo Arrieta, was discovered murdered in the rectory of Our Lady of Carmen, Capurganá, Columbia, on September 12, Fides reports. His body was "covered with wounds and stabs." Nothing appears to have been stolen. The Church in Colombia had just finished celebrating a "Week of Peace" on the night of the 11th. Father Oviedo Arrieta is the sixth priest to be murdered in Columbia this year, "a very worrying figure, which shows the state of violence and moral degradation in our society", Mgr. Juan Vicente Cordoba Villota tells Fides.
