Fides: NIGERIA - An "emergency forum" has been called on behalf of the Governors of northern Nigeria with regards to the violence in Plateau state

The President of the Forum of Governors of Northern Nigeria, Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu, has organized an emergency meeting for September 21 to tackle the inter-communal violence between Christians and Muslims that has bedeviled Plateau state recently, Fides News Agency reports. Seventy have been killed in the last two weeks, and two bombs exploded in the city of Jos last night, with thankfully no deaths reported in that incident. Things are certainly on the boil and the boil seems to be quickening in a conflict that shames everyone, Christian and Muslim.
