Le Parisien: Missing priest found hanging from a tree

Very rough translation:

The affair of the disappearance of the Indian priest Albert Marshall reached its conclusion yesterday in the Forest of Compiègne. A body, believed to be that of the missing priest, has been found in the proximity of Verberie, near the location where he was last seen by witnesses riding on a bicycle shortly after his disappearance on Friday, July 29. "There is a strong presumption it is him, because a bicycle has been found near the corpse, which was hanging from a tree," the Attorney General for Compeigne, Ulrika Delaunay-Weiss, disclosed yesterday.

Fr. Marshall, who worked for the Catholic humanitarian association Heart's Home International, headquartered in Vieux-Moulin, near Compeigne (Oise), had, before leaving on a mountain bike, made known his intention to end his life by placing a suicide note in plain sight on his bed. His disappearance touched off an extensive manhunt: the police deployed a helicopter, Republican Guards on horseback, 4x4's, a squad of police boats from Noyon, and a bloodhound.

This gets sadder the more I learn. Fr. Albert Marshall, 38, trained as an engineer, entered the priesthood in 2006 after attending a Points-Couer (Hearts Home) conference. Fr. Marshall was ordained to the diocese of Chingleput in January of this year, and arrived in Vieux-Moulin, France in March to study French and to be chaplain of the Points-Couer headquarters.

It's impossible to understand such a tragedy. All prayers for him and R.I.P.
