Saint of the Day, August 18: St. Jane Frances de Chantal

St. Jane Frances de Chantal (1572-1641) After her husband was killed in a hunting accident, Jane became a spiritual student and close friend of St. Francis de Sales. She founded the Order of the Visitation for women who were rejected by other orders due to old age or poor health, and helped open sixty-nine convents.
