Catholic World News: Indian prelate denounces government cover-up of persecution

The leading prelate in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka has denounced a state government report on the persecution of Christians.

“The report actually denied that there were any attacks at all,” said Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore. “Meanwhile there are dozens of witnesses who confirm this. Moreover, how could one even think of hiding the truth about 223 acts of violence against Christians in all 29 districts of Karnataka?”
