EWTN News: Peru- Cardinal reflects on St. Rose's example of courage in the faith

Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani of Lima, Peru has called on Catholics to follow the example of St. Rose of Lima, a saint who embodied “the courage of faith, the humility of prayer and intimacy with Jesus in the Eucharist.

[. . .]

“The humility of St. Rose explains everything; the seed of kindness of that humble person bore immense fruit in the world.  Everywhere this first saint of America is a light that illuminates others and fills them with enthusiasm because she put herself in God’s hands and her faith led her to show incredible love for neighbor,” the cardinal recalled.

[. . .]

The light of Christ will again shine out, he told those gathered at the Cathedral of Lima.  “It may seem like the eclipse is lasting a long time, but the sun is there.  Allow it to illuminate your lives, ask the Lord for help in overcoming selfishness and the moments of pride and arrogance which we all have.”
St. Rose of Lima
